The nerve is located just above the tailbone and is as thick as a thumb. Most often sciatica nerve pain occurs when the lower back has a herniated disc, bulging disc, bone spurs, or pressure that was placed on the large nerve from poor posture. Thus, resulting a pinch nerve in the lower back. This will generate inflammation leading to pain and numbness that may affect usually one leg.

In most cases, sciatica pain will reduce with the correct treatment. Although, with severe sciatica cases that are associated with serious leg weakness or bowel or bladder changes might need surgery.
